TENSIOMETERS
Tensiometers are generally used to monitor the tension on a cable at a particular
moment in time. They are commonly used when this information is very critical. Applications
include underground cable pulling, cable stringing, mooring lines on offshore rigs,
anchor lines on oceangoing vessels, and wire rope manufacturing. These tools are
very important when tension can be damaging to materials such as fiber optics.
Very often, tensiometers are connected to recording devices to generate a history.
The recording device can be electronic or mechanical.
Basically, tensiometers are categorized by the movement or non-movement of the
cable being tested. Please choose one of the types listed below to see examples of
the types of equipment Superior Scale can supply and calibrate.
